Bio
Dave Gowers produces multi-media work that explores the wide and varied responses to the treatment of ill health. He seeks to investigate both the banality of - and his rich curiosity about - the medical experience and sensations of serious illness. This work is roughly chronological. from diagnosis through to the end of treatment. Using original, manipulated CT/MRI scans, combined with sound and music, Dave seeks to portray a complex relationship between illness and memory.
In this recent work the artist plays with the notion of what serious illness is or is assumed to be.
